Introduction

 

The mission of the BC School Trustees Association (BCSTA) is to support public boards of education in their key work of improving student achievement. BCSTA fulfills its mission through proactive advocacy, collaborative relationships, and valued services to members.

 

This document describes BCSTA’s strategic priorities as identified by the Board of Directors at its June 2009 planning session. These priorities reflect the key areas the Association will focus on over the coming year. They are derived from the needs of our members from resolutions passed at the April 2009 annual general meeting, ongoing priorities from previous years, and current realities affecting public education in British Columbia.

 

In addition to describing BCSTA’s priorities for the coming year, this document will also serve as a reporting and accountability tool to keep members informed of activities and progress related to each priority.
