President Tees joins community and education partners to select outstanding BC teachers for Premier’s Award
The winners of the first-ever Premier’s Awards for Teaching Excellence have been announced. The awards recognize the efforts of 20 outstanding BC teachers working with students in the K-12, independent or band school systems. There were more than 150 nominations from principals, teachers, administrators, superintendents, trustees, parents, students and community members across BC.
BCSTA President Penny Tees said, “Being part of the selection group was one of the most positive experiences you could imagine. Reading the written nominations for the Premier’s Awards made it clear how fortunate we are in this province to have so many outstanding teachers who day-in, day-out work so hard and creatively in the process of educating our young people.”
