How to reach out to key contacts
There are many ways to reach out to your community and the chosen method will depend on the individual or group you are trying to reach. In some situations, one-on-one meetings may be most appropriate. Other times, a public meeting may be more suitable. Also consider: surveys, community advisory panels, a regular drop-in time to meet a trustee, actively seeking public involvement in key decisions and getting involved in other community educational events.
Once you have a good understanding of the interests of the opinion leaders in your community, consider developing a key contact program to maintain and build relationships over time.
