Superintendent performance review
|
Questions to consider:
- What were the results of the last superintendent review?
- When is the next superintendent review coming up?
- When is the next scheduled review of the board’s performance?

Boards and superintendents have a shared responsibility for student achievement, and an effective board/superintendent relationship is critical to fulfilling that responsibility. The foundations of this relationship are open communication, trust, and clarity of role expectations—all of which are enhanced through the performance planning and review process.
BCSTA has developed a performance planning and review (PPR) process to help the board and superintendent identify mutual goals, enhance communication and build positive relationships. The three-step process, led by an experienced facilitator, helps the board and superintendent address the question, “How are we doing?” Although it is focused primarily on the performance of the superintendent, it also provides information that relates to the performance of the board, senior administration and the system at large.
Contact BCSTA if your board of education would like to learn more.
