Revised (Nov 20 2008)
The annual planning cycle
- School planning councils in every school assess students’ achievement levels and develop school plans for improving achievement in their schools. These plans are submitted to the board for approval.
- Boards, their aboriginal communities and the Ministry of Education work together to develop Aboriginal education enhancement agreements.
- District reviews, conducted approximately every three years by the Ministry of Education, provide recommendations to help districts improve student achievement.
- Based on the school plans, enhancement agreements, district review recommendations and assessment data from a range of sources, the board develops a district achievement contract with specific goals and strategies for improving student achievement.
