Revised (Nov 20 2008)
Board/authority authorized programs
BC education curriculum standards are set out in grade-level documents called integrated resource packages. Each package describes what students are expected to know and be able to do in each course. These are summarized in the prescribed learning outcomes (curricular requirements).
The district can also develop courses that meet the particular aptitudes and interests of its students. These must be approved by the board and are called board/authority authorized (BAA) courses.
BCSTA has a list on its website of board/authority authorized programs being offered throughout the province.
