From election mode to Key Work mode

The election campaign you went through to become a trustee may have revolved around hot topics like closing schools or a controversial decision made by the previous board. However, public education is very dynamic and of great interest to many people, even if they did not come out to vote. Those issues that consumed so much attention fade into the background very quickly as new concerns emerge.

Public schools are the great democratic equalizer. Regardless of what the election issues were, school trustees must now turn their attention to the big picture and ensure that the needs of ALL students in all schools in the district are met, including: Aboriginal students, high-achievers, students with special needs, children living in poverty and students in early childhood and adult education programs.
