Below you will find several key education resources for both board of education and public use.

Indigenous Resources

The Ministry of Education and Child Care maintains information on Indigenous Education, including curriculum integration and performance data.

The First Nations Education Steering Committee (FNESC) is an independent society committed to improving education for all First Nations learners in British Columbia. You can also access information on the B.C. Tripartite Education Agreement: Supporting First Nation Student Success (BCTEA) on the FNESC website.

Métis Nation British Columbia (MNBC) represents Métis Chartered Communities in BC. Their mandate is “to develop and enhance opportunities for Métis communities by implementing culturally relevant, social, and economic programs, and services.”

The mission of The First Nations Schools Association  (FNSA) is to “collaborate with First Nation schools to create nurturing environments that develop learners’ pride and competence in their First Nations language and heritage and will equip them to realize their full potential, within self-governing First Nations communities.”


Health Resources

The Ministry of Education and Child Care has released a set of core anaphylaxis resources, to help school and boards reduce the risk of severe allergic reactions.

Healthy Schools provides information on policies, programs and resources designed to promote student’s physical, social and emotional well-being.


Inclusive Education

Ministry of Education and Child Care information on inclusive education, including policies and resources.

CommunityLINK (Learning Includes Nutrition and Knowledge) provides funding to boards of education to support vulnerable students in academic achievement and social functioning.

The Ministry of Children and Family Development funds a range of programs and services for children and youth and their families.


Additional Resources

SOGI 1 2 3 helps educators make schools inclusive and safe for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities (SOGI).

The K-12 Anti-Racism Action Plan is a multi-year framework to specifically address racism
and discrimination in education and to create a culture and climate of belonging for all
students, staff, and families.

Safe and Caring School Communities guides boards of education and schools in their efforts to create safe and inclusive learning environments and develop prevention and intervention strategies for addressing worrisome behaviours including threats or risks of violence.

The Early Learning Framework guides and supports early childhood educators, primary school teachers, principals and vice-principals, college and university educators and researchers, post-secondary students in early childhood and elementary education programs, other early years professionals, communities, governments and families.

ChildCareBC has been building a future where access to affordable, quality, inclusive child care is a core service that families can depend on.
