Public education leaders understand the social, economic and cultural empowerment that comes with making public education our number one priority, and with the provincial election less than 70 days away, the urgency to ensure that our candidates understand the issues that are important to us continues to grow.
BCSTA invites everyone to participate in our 10 Key Actions in the lead-up to the BC General Election.

KEY ACTION 4
In making Public Education the key issue in the BC General Election, we want to make sure that we’re engaging people outside the education community. Reaching out to sector leaders and turning their attention to the interdependent partnerships they have with their local school districts is important in achieving our short and long term goals.
At the February Provincial Council Meeting, BCSTA reached out to several of these sector leaders and asked them the question: Why is Public Education the Key? You can read more about the event and watch the presentations here.
For Key Action 4, we ask you to watch and share these videos with your school district staff, community members and social media networks. Take it to the next step and put on your own speakers event.
Tell us what you think about the videos and share with us how you’ve engaged sector leaders in your community. Post your ideas/stories on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #bcedkey, or email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
